Fog City

Some of the photos from our vacay in San Francisco. We go here often, so I thought I knew exactly what to pack, but the weather was much colder than we expected so I practically lived in my trench coat. Despite the occasional drizzle, we did get time to roam the streets and visit some of our favorite shopping areas and restaurants. Had the most amazing breakfast at the Ferry building and wandered the little boutiques along Fillmore and Union. We had to stop at Japan Town to pick up our asian fashion magazines and delight in the endless style inspiration and free gifts inside. We visited the breathtaking Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit (photos coming soon) at the De Young Museum and stayed at our regular hotel, Le Meridian. It is one of my favorite parts of coming here, from the beautiful rooms, gorgeous views, and intoxicating scent.

I miss it already...

One is Silver...

These photos were taken on our return from a shopping spree the other day. I splurged on a small Louis Vuitton bag as a 'justifiable' spring must-have.  As much as I love my new bag, it cannot replace this vintage, silver bag that I had dug up from my mom's closet and decided to debut for the day - there's something so comforting about rediscovering old clothing and accessories.  The dark, plummy colors of this outfit matched the feel of the day, which was overcast and chilly, and the shiny beige heels I thought pulled together the almost entirely-dark outfit, and added a touch of lightness. The jewelry is a mix of vintage and new pieces.

Ear Candy

This past weekend I went shopping with Justi at Urban Outfitters, and picked up some new things.  Left to my own devices this $100 shopping spree could have easily turned into a $400 one.  Luckily I followed my better judgment (that is to say my sister made me) and cut down significantly on the clothing and accessories I’d brought to the register, leaving the store with a modest sized, but much needed array of items.  I am particularly excited about the earrings I found, all of which were on sale for $4.99.  I have been obsessed lately with long, sometimes shoulder-grazing earrings, and their ability to enhance any look by instantly making me feel more glamourous and sophisticated.  The first pair I bought has long, dark feathers that hang from a gold chain, the second ivory looking tusks also on a gold chain, and the third are metal crosses which fade at the ends into long metal tassels.  I am especially excited about the cross earrings; they stand out so well against my black hair.  Thank you, Urban Outfitters, for providing me with yet another successful shopping venture!
